SCC Spring News

We had our last official SCC meeting of the 2012-2013 school year.  Thank you for all your support with our fundraising efforts.  Our "Broughton Boogie" raised $2900.00 this year.  As previously asked, our money is being directed "outside".  The next stage outside will be:

1.)  Activity Logs                           logs                                                    

2.)  Shaded Rock Seating     

 

With all our efforts and the great community support we received, we also have money to help support "jungle sports".  Please go to "junglesports.ca" for a view of this exciting week long (September 30-October 4) activity.

Our Fun Fair date has also been set for September 20, 2013. We need business support and LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS.

Our last fundraising events of this year are:

June 18th - Chucky Cheese Night

Junior Students

The 2013 Elementary Summer School brochure is being sent home with the Grade 7 & 8 students.

   

Ottawa Trip Payments

This is a reminder to all parents/guardians whose child/children are attending the Grade 8 Ottawa trip in June.  Payments must be to the school prior to the 15th of May and June so they can be deposited in the bank by the 15th.  Thank you so much in advance.

   

Safety Of Our Students

There is nothing  more important than the safety of our students.  The attached letter was sent home to students at Jack Miner Public School.  Please read the safety guidelines mentioned in the letter and review them with your child/children.Letter to JackMiner Community.pdf 

   

Dress Code

SCHOOL OR BEACH ???  - APPROPRIATE APPAREL

     With the warmer weather upon us, please reaffirm our dress code with your children.  The following guidelines help us maintain an orderly environment:

  • clothing should be modest so as not to be revealing
  • underwear must not be visible
  • shorts and skirts may not be shorter than the end of fingertips extended down the sides of legs
  • clothing must not depict ethnic, cultural or racial slurs
  • violent scenes or slogans are prohibited
  • beer, alcohol or cigarette advertisments are inappropriate
